[expert] glibc 2.1

I am considering upgrading to glibc 2.1. Has anyone made the upgrade and if so
did you compile from source or use the RH binaries, and were there any problems
with dependencies.

I've already upped glib and gtk+ to 1.2 without a hitch (2.2.6 kernel) but am
concerned about the mandrake distro binaries working with an upgrade of glibc.
