Hi to all! :-)
I have this problem: I have installed MDK 5.3 some months ago, and then
I've downloaded (and installed!) a lot of updates for it (it's all .RPM
packages) , and now I'd like to burn a Mandrake CD with those updated
packages.
The goal would be to have a bootable cd (and I know how to do it, that's
not a problem) that starts to install MDK 5.3 (and I know how to do this
too!) but when it installs the packages, it should use the new ones.
Well, I think I need to put the updated packages in place of the old ones
(especially the KDE packages, that on my cd are alpha version =>
kdexyz-1.1-0.1alpha1rh5x.i386.rpm), but...my question is...will the
installer recognize the new packages or not?
And, more importantly, WHERE is/are the file/s that tell the installer the
name of the files it ought install?
I only can imagine (I HOPE!!) that it's some kind of script...do you know
the name and position of this file on the mandrake CD?
How to modify it?
I haven't found an HOWTO or mini-HOWTO covering this topic...
But there must be some documentation, isn't it?

Ok, I've finished, thank to you all , you're a great source of knoweldge! I
read all of your messages! :-))

Ciao,
        Michele
