You'll very probably get better results with -mpentium -march=pentium in a
more real-life piece of code.

No. There are some known bugs in -O6 handling in pgcc 1.1.1, and we
haven't had the time to check whether or not they're still in 1.1.3, so we
had to stick with something slightly more conservative.
