Hi!

Does anyone know what problem the above mentioned kernel message hints at?

I dial in:
        Using interface ppp0
        Connect ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyS1
and five seconds later:
        kernel: ppp: channel ppp0 closing
        Hangup (SIGHUP)
        Modem hangup

And now for the funny part (it has been too easy yet):
I dial into another provider. Connect fine. But DNS dies after a minute or so.
'ping localhost' works fine. 'route' has:
localhost       *               255.255.255.255 UH    0      0        0 lo
The configuration (kernel and such) worked before using 'usernet'. Well and
the scripts work on M6 but not here on 5.3. Which is awfully funny: I can't
use M6 because of the freezes and M5.3 because dialup is dead...

I love Linux.
