But if you put your updated packages in updates it would be a lot easier for
me to keep track of which packages were new.

When run wget with -m on the updates directory, I can see immediatly which
new files have been downloaded, and copy them accross to my install tree if
I want them; I can't keep another mirror of the whole RPMS tree :(

Is the updates directory still maintained?
