the weird thing is that i reinstall back Linux mandrake 6.0 and now it works
with no problems...

Doesn't recognize what? I don't have a zip drive, and it's close to
impossible to fix a possible bug if you can't reproduce it and don't even
know remotely what's going on.
Maybe it doesn't recognize the drive, did you try modprobe ppa
io=whateverioportyourparallelportison?
