The S3 Trios are known to be buggy.
The S3Trio64 has the same problem whereas the S3Trio64V+ was fixed.
As it seems to work before, you may re-use your old XF86Config if you
have keep it.
I known someone who have an analog problem with an S3Trio64V+ who have
succeed in using it by installing the XFree86 rpm of the mdrk 5.3.
