[expert] More ftp help

Axalon,

i added 'ALL: 127.0.0.1 to hosts.allow
and
ipchains -I input -s 127.0.0.1/32 -i ! lo -j DENY
to my rc.local

rebooted

went into xterm and typed
ftp localhost
and it came back with
  Connected to localhost.
and maybe 10-15 seconds later it said
  421 service not available, remote server has closed connection
and immediately under that came
ftp>

what now?
