[expert] Kernel boot problems

Hi,

I have Mandrake 6.0 with kernel 2.2.9-19. Sometimes when I boot into
linux I get the following error

"cdrom_pc_intr the drive apperars confused (ireason = 0x 1)"

What does this mean?

Sometime I get a kernel panic error

"Kernel panic VFS unable to mount root fs on 03:49"

What does the number 03:49 mean?
