Do you have a new ATX box with a the new APM version (system around 98-99).
There may be a work around. With these new motherboards, you can control system
state (power-on, power-off, standby and reset) all by software. But I'm not sure
that can help if your system is really crashed, sometimes the reset switch won't
even work (see on some laptop).
