Hi all. I did a fresh install of Mandrake 6.0 a few weeks ago and
everything worked great but lately a few things haven't been playing
nicely... if I right click on the desktop (on kde), the lock screen,
display properties, help on desktop, and bookmarks options don't seem to
do anything (all the other options seem to work). The first two are the
most important to me. Also, when right clicking on the panel the restart
option works, but properties doesn't do any thing... any ideas anyone?

And a few more questions:

Has the kde cdplayer's cddb ever worked? I'm now using gtcd instead as
its cddb work (also looks a LOT nicer and more understandable design
too).

What is the defualt security setup for madrake for telnet and ftp? Like
3 days ago I installed mandrake on a machine for my father and after we
hooked it up to an impromptu local network (hi laptop and my sisters new
machine for college) http worked great, but the linux box completely
ignored telnet and ftp attempts. We finally got it working, but we had
to put entries for /etc/hosts for the other computers for them to be
able to connect via ftp or telnet..

BTW, thanks alot for the suggestions on kernal compiles... the stuff w/
using modules is a lot clearer now... I also noticed that modules for
different kernal versions are stored in different directories so there
is no way for them to confilict. Cool!
