Stock mandrake 6 distribution: attempted to build glibc2.1.2-pre2 failed - 'could not allocate memory' something about sunrpc was mentioned at this time attempted to build kernel 2.2.11 failed attempted to build gcc 2.95.1 success attempted to build libstdc++ 2.90.6 success attempted to build kernel 2.2.11 success attempted to build glibc2.1.2-pre2 compile - success, install - success W00h00 :) After that.. built glib1.2.4, gtk+1.2.4, and the current E cvs stuff (e, Eterm, esound, imlib, audiofile, fnlib) When i built glibc2.95.1, i simply installed it over the current setup, pgcc. later, i used kpackage to remove the pgcc rpms, and did a reinstall of gcc2.95.1. That worked fine, although when i run a configure script now, it cant determine the host type (i686-pc-linux-gnu). Ive had to manually enter that for each configure script. Can someone tell me how to fix that? Jason Marsh
