Hi there;

To be quite honest with you Mandrake is still not that stable to act as a
server.  It's the best as a client but as a server I don't think so.  I
worked with 'slackware' and 'suse' before and I have never seen
strange thing like those are happening in Mandrake.  
Like problem with unmounting the file system during shutdown! and ending
up with a not cleanly unmounted file system.
Like ownership of sound devices by the first user using sound!
I am not saying you can not fix these things but these are not good signs
for a server.  You don't expect to buy Installation CDs and start
downloading the next day to fix things up!
