That's a good question, and I completely missed that part in your
original post. Here's the only thing mentioned about RAID in the
aic7xxx driver code:
aic7xxx.c: "Adaptec AIC-7810 Hardware RAID Controller", /*
AIC_7810 */
aic7xxx.c: if ( i == 0 ) /* We found one, but it's the 7810 RAID
cont. */
aic7xxx.c: printk(KERN_INFO "aic7xxx: The 7810 RAID
