I've tried to upgrade initrd.gz from kernel-2.2.2-19mdk to 27mdk and this is
my relation:

 1) procces of upgrading the initrd.gz was successfully but not works!

 2) to know why it's don't works I've putted these lines in linuxrc
    (in the initrd.gz)

    echo "virtual bash"
    read PIPPO;
    while test 1 = 1;
    do
     $PIPPO
     read PIPPO
    done

 3) I see, reading the linuxrc and using bash that

    a) the HD contenents mandrake directory was correctly mounted by linuxrc
    b) the directory /proc & the mount -t proc proc /proc not change the
fact
       that /proc is empty using 19mdk and usind 27mdk (it'wrong, my be
not?)
    c) the last operation is put linuxsys.img in loop7 device.
    d) kernel 19mdk re-mount loop7 as root; 27mdk not! THIS IS THE PROBLEM!

    I tried to upgrade CD with kernel-2.2.11-2mdk and new Lnx4win but
    the 1.4Mb initrd.gz image not contains the linuxrc so the normal
    installation (on real partition) starts.

 I hope that this can be usefull for someone,
 and I hope that someone help me to finish my work.

 Excuse me but there are difference ? Why ?
