I'm trying to get jdk1.2 working and every time I load a java program that uses
swing, I get a bunch of "font not found" errors. Looking this up on
http://www.blackdown.org/ I find that I need to have the URW fonts installed.
So I do some investigating and it turns out that they already ARE installed in
the package urw-fonts-1.1-9mdk.rpm.

The only other instructions are to modify the XF86Config file to know where to
look for them. So I look in mine, and it mentions that fonts are now handled by
a program independent of the X server. This is different than the instructions
tell me about, so now I'm a bit confused about where to go next.

1) Why am I getting the errors about missing fonts if the fonts are already
installed?
2) What do I edit to get the JDK / X server to look in the right place for the
fonts?
