I tried doing an upgrade to v6.1 via HDD install using a mirror of 6.1 on
the local drive (locally it's in /home/mandrake on /dev/hdc6). I pointed
to the correct drive (/dev/hdc6) and gave it a directory of /mandrake and
it installed the second-stage ramdisk and all that, asked me which
packages to select/upgrade and so forth, but when it came time to upgrade
the RPMs themselves, it reported that it couldn't find the RPM for every
single package selected. I've generated an hdlist in
/home/mandrake/Mandrake/base after the mirror so I'm not sure where I'm
going wrong. I'd rather not burn a CD as I tried a pre-fab iso (the one
announced in here a few days ago) and nothing would run on the CD, so I'd
prefer not to throw CDs away and figured I'd try it this way... any idea
why this isn't working? Should I point it to the directory
/mandrake/Mandrake?

Also, where's the gui installer? I made a boot floppy from
images/boot.img and it's the regular text installer (altho I do like the
new package-selection layout).

Very interested in trying out the upgrade but this has me a little
stumped... =(
