[expert] smtpd ???

Hi, I
%m running Venus since the beginning.
This week I wanted to make some practices with SMTP but I found that in the 
standar distro there doesn
%t come the smtpd; also I checked /etc/inetd.conf 
and there is no line pointing to smtpd.

Any idea why it doesn
%t come with this basic daemon ?. 
>From where can I get smtpd for Venus ?.
