I've got a printing problem with Samba that I hope someone can help with.
I've installed the Mandrake Red Hat 6.0 release in the office as a
development server. Everything works fine - the KDE desktop, Apache, Sound,
the works. I also installed Samba to test performance on file transfer and
printing in a Windows environment. My problem is this: my Windows clients
can see the server fine on our NT Domain, and can access their home folders
without problem, and can see the printer shares set up on the server.
However, when connecting a Windows print driver to the share, when a job is
sent, it just disappears into an apparent black hole (i.e. the job dissapers
from Windows, but never appears on the printer), but printing direct to the
printer using LPR from Linux works fine, I've seen this identical issue
from other people on several newsgroups, but no answers. I've gone through
the SMB.CONF file, but can't see any problems. Any ideas? (and is there a
log where you can see what's happening to the job?)
