Best way might be to run the other Linux, mount hda5 and reach in and edit fstab that way. The best way is still to run only from the partition names as installed. He may have to add dummy partitions or re-organise partition order (use only Partition Magic 4.01) to restore things to how they were. -- Ron Stodden
