I'm wanting to put 2 monitors on a new Mandrake-Linux 6.0 system. I have
everything but the video cards, and was wondering if I could get any
advice/experiences of anyone who has put 2 monitors on their system.

First, what video cards will work for 2 monitors? I have an Intel motherboard
with the TX chipset and an AGP slot. I would like the cards to have at least
8MB each (so I can run both monitors at 1280x1024 with a decent color palette).
I know that I can get 2 ATI Expert 98 cards that work with dual monitors on
Win98 (both PCI) for a reasonable price, but don't know if Linux has drivers for
those (or even where to look to find out) and whether those drivers will allow 2
cards anyway. I've been told that Matrox cards work with 2 monitors, but I
can't find any except the new G400's. I'd actually like to get the G400 (32MB)
which is 1 card capable of handling 2 monitors, but I don't know (again) if
Linux has drivers for it (especially since it's a pretty new card on the
market).

So, any advice or pointers on where to look would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help.
