More than likely, it's the _kernel's_ APM stuff which is causing the
errors you're seeing. I remember reading the messages on linux-kernel,
and the problem had to do with the BIOS implementation of APM calls.
Check the linux-kernel archives to be sure, but it might be solved by a
simple append= statement in /etc/lilo.conf to turn off kernel-side APM.
