There is a replacement for ipchains, called netfilter
(http://netfilter.kernelnotes.org/).
I can't give you an exact example (never used masq - I've got 32 official
IPs ;) ), but

should help here...
I believe the way to go is
ipnatctl -I -s 10.0.0.0/255.0.0.0 -b source -m masquerade
assuming your local network is using the 10.0.0.0/255.0.0.0 network, but I
might well be wrong about this.

And more reliable. However, 2.3.18 seems to cause filesystem corruption on
some systems (not mine), so be careful...
