The drivers at www.linux3d.org will only give you *Glide* support.
If correctly installed, the Glide SDK examples should now run
in hardware accelerated 3d.
If you want to use OpenGL applications however, you need a Mesa
compiled with 3DFx support. This is *not* true of the Mesa distributed
on the Mandrake CD. So you should either re-compile your own Mesa,
or pick-up a pre-compiled binary on the net.
I have a Banshee here (Diamond Monster Fusion) which works in 3d
hardware acceleration ...
