[expert] Gnome installs and german Sonderzeichen

Hi folks,

can anyone help me ? I updated my Mandrake Installation
with some Gnome packages and now all gnome Widgets with
German Sonderzeichen (Umlaute) don't get shown anymore.
They are simply blank (in menus) or reduced to a null string
(in buttons or the like)
