Ummm, Andy, you may have missed a couple of posts.
One was from Gael Duval before 6.1 was issued saying INSTALL would be
much better than upgrade.
Another was from John Aldrich, who did an INSTALL without formatting any
of the 6.0 partitions which achieved a pretty effective upgrade.
And I hope I spelled everyone's name right and didn't misquote too
badly<ducks>

If you ever tried to upgrade RedHat 5.0 to 5.1 to 5.2, I think you know
why INSTALL is better than Upgrade. The shuffle of which directory
contains what continues, often by developers outside Mandrake, like, for
example, KDE.
