Your motherboard also will have a SCSI BIOS, as a "real" AHA-152x
card would. My hardware is different- I do *not* have a SCSI BIOS,
nor do I need one- I don't need to boot off any drive in my SCSI
chain. I have only the AIC-6360 chip itself.
What I'm afraid of is that the aha152x kernel module Mandrake 6.0
uses looks for a BIOS signature, instead of taking your word that
the hardware is indeed present at the specified io port and irq.
If so, that's a problem. In the past, I would just use a kernel
that contained SCSI support and would pass it io, irq, and SCSI
id, and all was well.
Now I'm out of luck. Sometimes the "new, improved" installation
stuff is a step *backward*.
