I'm trying to share an Epson Stylus Color printer from a Samba server. The
printer is directly connected to the servers printer port and I have no
trouble printing from the server.

However, I have Win 98 clients that cannot connect to the printer. I used
swat to setup Samba so I believe that the configuration is correct.
Although the Win 98 clients see the printer share they report that it is
off-line.

I'm thinking that this may be caused by some lack of bi-directional
communication between the printer and the Win 98 clients and that the "fix"
may be something I need to do on the clients.

There has got to be a way to make this work. I use to run an NT server on
the very box that the Samba server is currently on and shared this printer
with no problems. Help keep me NT free!

I'm using Mandrake 6.0 and the most current Mandrake RPM of Samba.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.
