Has anybody set up a VPN using ssh? I've been trying to do it following the
instructions in the O'Reilly book "Virtual Private Networks" as well as the VPN
mini-howto. I've run into a pppd problem that I can't overcome.
When I do /usr/sbin/pppd on the slave machine I get garbage as expected.
If I do ssh -l vpn hostname /usr/sbin/pppd on the host machine I get:
/usr/sbin/pppd: no device specified and stdin is not a tty
I have a .ppprc file in /home/vpn that contains "passive". I also tried adding
passive as an option when I can pppd but neither works.
Any ideas?
