Mandrake v6.0 on a K6-2/300. I have apparently done something stupid when
I attempted to start a program that I had just compiled. I started the
program with a command line in a terminal that I had just opened in
kfm. X-Windows appreared to be locked up and I thought that kfm had
crashed. So I closed X-Windows, but when I attempted to restart I got an
error message. I attempted to run Midnight Commaner in a terminal and got
an error message that it couldn't open a /tmp file. When I checked /tmp
was gone. Mkdir /tmp corrected that problem.
Here are the messages when I run startx:

When reporting a problem related to a server crash, please send
the full server output, not just the last messages
The end of the messages may be telling me what's wrong, but I don't understand.
Help in getting X-Windows reestablished in its full KDE glory will be
appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
