I think the MandrakeUpdate program should be changed so that it does not
pop up windows with the process's effective uid set to root, but only have
an effective uid of root when it is doing the
rpm stuff necessary to upgrade the new packages or if run as root.
This might be difficult because it is displaying statistics while doing the
upgrade...
