I have a Sony with Mandrake 6.0-1 and the following works for me (my CDrom
is also hdd)
in /etc/rc.d/rc.local I added:
insmod /lib/modules/2.2.9-27mdk/scsi/ide-scsi.o
and in /etc/rc.local I added:
/sbin/modprobe ide-scsi
and all works fine with whatever prog. I choose to use.

Subject: Re: [expert] problems with xcdroast
Hi,
thanks to all tried to help me.
I switched SCSI-emulation on in the kernel, nothing changed. My burner is
available, but not my CD-ROM neither in xcdroast nor in keasycd. Is there a
bootparameter to tell the kernel to use SCSI-emulation with my
CDROM (/dev/hdd)?
