Just FWIW, my boss bought a new laptop and purchased an
inexpensive (I think it was a RealTek) PCMCIA ethernet card
and another distribution (*cough* Caldera Open Linux
*cough*) saw it and the LCD display just fine. :-) I
suspect Mandrake 6.1 might be better at this than 6.0 was,
as he tried to install RedHat (we're almost exclusively a
RedHat shop here, 'cause it's stable and mostly
hack-resistant <G>) 6.0 off a CD I had and it wouldn't find
half the stuff on his laptop...
