It just annoys the hell out a me sometimes, redhat and mandrake did it in 6.0 (granted they released a fix...after sometime) and now it starts all over again with 6.1. You people who use IMP or TWIG or some other webmail tool that uses imap and and php3 know what I'm talking about. <rant> the problem with php3 and postgresql I can put down to a typo, a quick look at the src rpm's shows the --with-pgsql was forgotten. But the problem with imap..well what an utter complete stuff up that is. I find it hard to follow the logic of the guy who created that. what was wrong with having an imap and an imap-dev rpm..but nooooo, lets have an imap rpm..get ride off the all important c-client files so people cant link against them and then make the mod_php-imap binaries fat and the src rpms massive by including imap source in the file....waste peoples time (yes the same people who thought they would do the right thing and PAY for linuxmadrake distro and support the company) by making sure they dont work and leaving it up to the end user to fix it them selves because they NEED that functionality NOW and cant WAIT till and OFFICIAL fix is EVENTUALLY released. </rant> Ok..I feel better now. Thank you. A note to Linux-mandrake. I think you people shouldn't worry about all the hip and funky fairy floss untill you make sure EVERYTHING in the product you are SELLING works.....dont fall into M$ mentallity of sales and distribution.
