All,
For some reason my install of mandrake 6.1 has problems.
When installing the timezone from the initial setup it can't find any zones.
Gives me this sh: cd: /usr/share/zoneinfo: No such file or directory.
Then it dumps me to the Installation Steps menu.. I can finish everything else
except the ConfigureX. When I select that it just re-displays the
Installation step
menu.. So X never gets configured.
After a reboot the next time I say upgrade and I try to install all the
Xfree stuff that
didn't make it over because of that error above.. When I finally get to log
in, X windows
is not configured.. Running Xconfigurator aborts giving me an error of
"cannot find/load card database....
Question!!: How/where can I get this card database and install it manually???
I've tried installing this almost 8 times now and everytime it gives me the
same error.
I downloaded the ISO image and verified the md5..it passed.
If I cannot figure this out I'm going to have to dload a different
distro... and I don't
want to do that...
Any suggestions??
