I saw this mentioned on the mailing list archives a while ago, but I
didn't see any solutions.

I am trying to do a fresh install of 6.1 on a laptop that doesn't have
a cdrom drive. I have tried ftp install with a remote server, ftp
install to my own (local) server, hard disk install with the entire cd
on /dev/hda1. Needless to say this didn't work at all, and always
fails at the point of getting stage2.img.

Then I tried using the "cooker" disk images...although pcmcia finally
worked (two high beeps, and the logs looked much better), none of the
above installation methods worked.

Is there a solution to this problem?

Thanks.

Patrick
