Well it could be that I have another problem. My statement above is not fully
correct. The KFM help states:
"You just have to click on the *.tar.gz *.tar *.tgz file to have a look at it. You
may now drag files out of the tar file. Some apps support loading documents out of
tar files. You may for example use KView to open an image that is located in a tar
file."
However when I do this I get many fake folders, when trying to open then receive
the error message: "Could not list directory contents
file/home/broten/icchains-firewall-1.6.tar.gz#tar/24%20/" (this using
ipchains-firewall-1.6.tar.gz as an example)
If I try to copy one of the displayed folders I receive the following error: "The
requested action , Recurse coping from file with sub-protocal (for instance, tar
files) is not implemented yet."
