As far as I remember (I had the same problem with mailman after upgrading my
Linux), it has to do with security protection of sendmail. There has to be a
file somewhere -I am sorry for not having the name right now- indicating your
program is allowed to work with sendmail.
I'll see if I can find it back home - I am not subscribed anymore to the
Mailman mailing list.
BTW: a beautiful mailing list- have a look at it - especially for the
