KDE 2.0 is still very much Beta..  I would hardly move to it yet to solve
stability issues.


I have been using KDE 1.1.2 with great success.  Moving to 2.0 prematurely will
assure that you will not be able run current 1.1.X KDE applications, it is a
new API and the old KDE applications will need to be PORTED to the new API.

daunting task.  But, my advice is not to to go to 2.0 but to give 1.1.2 a try.
