Ok yes I'm the one that started this headted discusion with just 2 lines of
code. lol
the reson for the post is this.. I am using a chunk of drive space on my
windows system for storing some of my larger linux files/stuff (manly the
cooker mirror) but with windows fat partioning symbolic links are not
allowd wich realy plays havoc on the cooker mirror for it has a lot of
them. Also for the life of me I can not seem to force the parmisions on the
drive that I want. (I am running cooker)
In responce to your question Denis yes. you can mount drives as a user it
takes a lil doing you have to set the suid on the smbmount and smbmnt
programs (and smbumount program if you want to be able to unmount the drive
as a normal user)
and in fstab (if you mount the drives that way) you need to put "user" in
the options portion. and you can then mount and umount the smb drives as a
normal user.
