Yep, a library is in there and running Netscape as a child, to set up
threads, it seems. Moreover, the Netscape is compiled against glibc
2.0... And might work very well on Festen.

I have experimented with Mozilla M11 and find it almost as stable as
Netscape 4.7 but still missing some features. It's total package size is
about 5.7Meg compared to quite a lot more for Netscape (triple, perhaps?).
It lacks the features we have all come to know and love (all of the pop-up
windows with commercial messages of vital importance ;-}). But its memory
use model is much better, and it is available for download at
http://www.mozilla.org.

(And, for those of you out there wanting to receive multiple emails in
separate inboxes a la Outlook, Mozilla has *Profiles* several of which can
be set up in one user space. Unfortunately, email filters are a "yet to be
implemented" feature.)

I would assess the difficulty as temporary and suggest the solution is to
recompile Netscape against the appropriate libraries. Of course, getting
anything done with Netscape (aka AOL) these days is like mating
elephants.... The other possibility is that Mozilla M12 will be usable out
of the box, or Opera will become available.
