[expert] Nested Folders w/ IMAP

I've successfully (?) setup imap-4.6.3 on MD 6.0 but I would 
really like to have more than one level of nesting in my mail 
folders, e.g.:

~/imapmail
-----/subfolder1
---------/subfolder2
------------/subfolder3
                 message1
                 message2
                 message3
etc...



So my questions are as follows:
a) Is this a limitation of imap? If not then...
b) Is there a way to change the existing imap server to 
   allow multiple nesting?
c) Are there other imap servers that allow nesting?
