I have the same thing with my voodoo banshee.. I'm still trying to figure out if this 
is
OK or I have a problem.
X ( with KDE ) uses 59M as reported by top and or Xosview.  WIth gnome/e I've seen it 
as
high as 89 M..
Everything runs fine, but it just seems odd.
