[expert] Update glib with glib-2.1.2

Hi,

I want to try install glib-2.1.2 as the default in my Mandrake 6.1 system,
because it is required by jdk1.2.2-linux-rc3.  But I am very very nervous
about doing that, fearing the whole system could be screwed.  So I am
seeking the advices on doing this from people have done this glib
replacing thing.  What are the steps? What should I avoid?
