i've been running a voodoo3/2000 with 128mb for a couple of weeks with zero
problems. i just upgraded
the ram to 256. the system boots fine, until the XDM splash screeen goes
up. then.... freeze. no keyboard,
no mouse :( dunno if the machine was really frozen or just the
console/mouse. reproduced it a couple of
times. scratched my head and thought about what i'd done to install the
ram. per someone's advice, i did
change the AGP aperture from 64 to 128 (half of RAM). on a hunch, i went
back to the bios and dropped it
back to 64mb. came right up. is there anything the voodoo3 driver needs
to use a larger AGP aperture? do
i even care?
