:>for this?

There are two automounters: kernel-based autofs (autofs rpm) and "old"
user-space amd (am-utils rpm). I have just found the "Automount"
mini-HOWTO in my /doc/HOWTO/mini directory, and I am sure there is some
HOWTO on amd out there, 2. I use BOTH of them concurently: autofs for the
things I really need, and amd for the mounts I normally do not need and do
not want to configure.

autofs is much better for all but one thing: amd comes with a default
automount-map which magically mounts anything a machine exports under
/net/machineneme as soon as you try accessing this directory. AFAIK, this
cannot be done with autofs maps, othervise I would have dumped amd a long
time ago.

autofs-mounts have proven to be much more stable on my system -
therefore i wouldn't recomend you to use amd (or at least not this
"standard" map) for mounting something you really need all the time, like
/home or /usr directories. Besides, autofs maps are much simpler and
easier to understand.

see the man pages for automount, autofs, auto.master...
