Not that I am aware of. I've heard of that too, but more in
reference to cable modems than xDSL (I've found my ISP to 
expire DHCP assigned addresses every three/four hours). I could 
just as easily switch cards (10/100 cards can be found as low
as $20 canadian).


I can't the switch the network cards in my system because my 
home network runs on 10base2(PCI NE2000/Realtek 8029 Combo)


More likely, since I finally have access to CDR, I'll cut a
copy of LM 7.0 "AIR", and give that a try first. Hopefully
it will have a updated Tulip/PNIC driver that works.


The Linux distributions I tried and found that didn't work:
LM 6.0 (Max-Linux CD)
LM 6.1 (Burned CD-R)
LRP 0.9.3 (I think)
Trinux 0.61
