Axalon: Some weeks ago, I posted to the list complaining that IP aliasing wouldn't work in LM 6.1, even with the updated "initscripts" RPM installed. I've since found out why - I'd reconfigured my kernel so that the driver for my network card was compiled in, rather than having it as a loadable module. This prevents the "modprobe" from working in the network startup scripts. I only discovered this when I accidentally re-booted my machine with the original 2.2.13-22mdk kernel. So - half an apology, Axalon. :-) IP Aliasing *does* work, but not if it has to deal with speed freaks like me, who try to optimise everything in sight! I'll go and hide back under my little stone now, if that's alright with everyone.... -- Phil Edwards Technical Specialist ========================================================================== Travellog Systems Phone +44 (0)1444 459016 The Priory, Haywards Heath Fax +44 (0)1444 456655 West Sussex, RH16 3LB mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] United Kingdom http://www.travellog.co.uk ==========================================================================
