I use tcsh. Try man tcsh. I have mine set up as follows:
set prompt = "[%T][%d] %B%n%b@%m %B%h%b [%c] % "
I have my prompt displaying time, day, user@host, history no, present
directory and a % sign. A little excessive, but I get everything in
one go. If you change the last "%" sign to a ">" you should get what
you want. However, for your working directory, you only get the last
branch.
