1. Don't know. Check the RPMS dir?
2. Normally, you don't need st.o. The mt installed is the mt/st
version.
So just use it. (chased my tail for 2 weeks on that information that
you need st.o)
mt -f /dev/st0 status
should give you info if your tape drive is the first one (not id=0) on
the bus. Then just use it. Check the archives for last weekend. I
posted backup/restore for scsi and mt information.
